The aim of the Centre is the implementation, support and promotion of theoretical and applied research on historical, political, cultural and other phenomena and processes important for the Republic of Srpska:

• conducting theoretical and applied research in the field of social sciences and humanities,
• carrying out multidisciplinary, interdisciplinary and transdisciplinary research in the field of social and humanities, cultural identity, culture and politics of memory and remembrance,
• organising national and international conferences and/or scientific meetings and participation in meetings of this type,
• presenting and publishing the results of research and other activities,
• establishing connections and cooperation with similar establishment, institutions and organisations in the country and abroad,
• professional training of interested and target groups and the public,
• other activities that create the Centre's goals.
